Middletown Special

Thousands of people came out to the Great Lawn at Croydon Hall on Saturday, September 22nd to celebrate Middletown at our annual fall festival.

This year, the Township recognized the MYAA, Lincroft Little League, and Sandy Hook Little League teams for their accomplishments during this year’s baseball season with a parade on Leonardville Road leading into Croydon Hall. After a message from Mayor Settembrino congratulating our champs, everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather and a day filled with festivities that included a business and community showcase, craft fair, live local music, children's activities, first responder demonstrations, a petting zoo, hayrides, flea market, and food court. New this year was Crunchy the T-Rex who had the kids roaring and the "First Annual Dinger Derby" hosted by MYAA. Children ages 7-15 were given a chance to see if they could hit "dingers" like Big Al (see our winners below!) — and adults joined in on the fun too!

Members of the Middletown Township Committee had the opportunity to chat with many residents as well as thank the businesses and community organizations that sponsor Middletown Day. We cannot thank them enough for their patronage!

Congratulations to Middletown Day 2018's "First Annual Dinger Derby" winners! We had an amazing turn out and A LOT of fun! Thanks to MYAA for hosting and making this event a great success. Winners can claim their prize at the Recreation Office at Poricy Park (345 Oak Hill Road).

Westminster Presbyterian Church is Collecting Critical Supplies for Hurricane Florence Victims Through
Monday, 10/8

Members of the Township Committee visited Westminster Presbyterian Church (94 Tindall Road) to support their #Care4Carolinas campaign to collect much-needed items for Hurricane Florence victims in Wilmington, North Carolina. The church is looking for the following items: Mold killing disinfectant, mops, brooms, shovels, dust masks, large trash bags, and work gloves. Baby needs like diapers, wipes, bottles and formula are also high on the list. Donations can be dropped off from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM through Monday, October 8th at the Trailer Drop Zone on the WPC Great Lawn. Microgrid Feasibility Study Results Presented at Public Information Session on Thursday, September 28th

Mayor Kevin Settembrino spoke at the Microgrid Feasibility Study Public Information Session that took place at the Middletown Township Public Library on Thursday, September 28th. The presentation was the second public information session held, which revealed the results of the study conducted over the last several months to determine the practicality of building a microgrid in the Middletown area. Middletown Family Pharmacy!

On Friday, September 28th, Committeeman Tony Perry and Committeewoman Pat Snell stopped by to congratulate Middletown Family Pharmacy (877 Main Street in Belford) on their success as a small business in our town. The family-run business conveniently provides access to prescription medications, vitamins, and flu clinics that help keep our residents healthy. They also thanked them for their engagement with the community through sponsorships, scholarships, and wellness programs.

The Middletown Township Committee initiated the "Made in Middletown" campaign in May 2018 to help spotlight some of the local small businesses that are so vital to our town's economy.

MTFD Removes Two
Children Stuck in Tree

On Sunday, September 23rd, the Middletown Township Fire Department was dispatched to remove two children stuck in a tree at The Village School in the Old Village section of the Township. Upon arrival, Middletown Township Police Officer Thomas Hughes climbed up into the tree to help keep the children calm as firefighters worked to safely remove them.

Port Monmouth, Belford Independent and the Old Village Fire Companies responded to the call and the Leonardo First Aid were present to provide emergency medical services. All units operated safely under the supervision of Second Assistant Chief John Friedmann.

Important Voter Information from the Township Clerk's Office

IMPORTANT IF YOU VOTED BY MAIL IN 2016

The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office will begin the process of notifying all vote by mail voters from the 2016 presidential election (who have not requested a ballot for the 2018 election) that they will be receiving a ballot unless they opt out in writing. The County Clerk’s Office is sending out approximately 25,000 of these letters.
