Township Clerk

The Township Clerk has responsibilities required by New Jersey State Statutes which include acting as the Secretary to the Governing Body, Custodian of Records, administering local elections, and issuing licenses and permits. Residents may seek guidance from the Office of the Clerk for various services.

General Election

The upcoming General Election is on Tuesday, November 8th from 6:00 AM -8:00 PM at your designated polling place (check the sample ballot you will receive in the mail for location). 

The deadline to register to vote was Tuesday, October 18th. If you have not already registered, you can do so by either registering online at or by visiting to download and complete the NJ Voter Registration Form. You can mail the form to Mary DeSarno, Monmouth County Superintendent of Elections, 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 or by dropping it off during normal business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) at the NEW Middletown Town Hall, Township Clerk’s Office, 1 Kings Highway, Middletown, NJ 07748.

Election Ballot Boxes September 2022

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is reminding Monmouth County voters who choose to vote by mail for the 2022 General Election that they can sign up for the County’s enhanced ballot tracking notification system: BallotTrax. Voters who sign up for the Monmouth County BallotTrax will receive alerts of when their ballots are received by the County Board of Elections for counting. Voters can opt to enable notifications by text message or email, and can sign up for the software at
