Middletown Introduces Ordinance to Help Provide Services and Resources to Residents in Need
The Middletown Township Committee is moving forward with their commitment to directly connect residents in need with organizations that can assist them. At the October 15th Township Committee meeting, they passed an ordinance on first reading to establish a Community Assistance Network Volunteer Advisory Committee.
The Middletown Township Community Assistance Network Committee (MTCAN Committee) would work in partnership with faith based organizations, civic and community groups, Township residents, and Township officials to build a clearinghouse of local public assistance and social services programs.

"Jersey Matters" Highlights Middletown's Ranking as One of the Safest Places to Live in New Jersey
Mayor Kevin Settembrino, Deputy Chief Robert Stefanski, and Harmony Elementary School Principal Erik Paulson were recently interviewed by WJLP's "Jersey Matters" reporter Kimberly Kravitz about Middletown's ranking as one of the safest places to live in New Jersey. The ranking was based on a 2018 report conducted by Safewise.

Deputy Mayor Tony Fiore Visits Nut Swamp Elementary School to Discuss Local Government

 Deputy Mayor Fiore discussed topics from a book the kids are reading called Mom for Mayor.
|
|
|
|
On Tuesday, October 16th, Deputy Mayor Tony Fiore visited with third graders at Nut Swamp Elementary School to speak about the role local government plays in their lives. He covered topics such as how the election process works, the roles and responsibilities of the Mayor and Township Committee, and how to make and pass a law. He also asked the children about what type of laws they would make as elected officials and what they would want to build for other kids in Middletown. The kids had some great ideas and we hope to inspire them to become involved in our community and help make a difference.
