MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown Township Committee today announced that the Workshop Meeting on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 7:00 PM will be open to the public and taking place in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting will also be made available to view and listen to through CivicClerk at middletownnj.portal.civicclerk.com.

Once you visit the link, please scroll to the information for the Monday, February 2^nd meeting. Once the meeting begins, the event will say "LIVE" and a camera icon will appear. You can click on the camera icon to stream the meeting. After the meeting ends, a recording of it will be available.

Prior to the Township Committee Meeting, the event link will be published on the Township’s Facebook page. The recording of the meeting will be aired on the Township’s TV channel (Verizon FiOS Channel 26/Comcast Cable Channel 20) and YouTube channel.

The February 2^nd meeting agenda provides an opportunity for public comment on the following agenda items. Members of the public may comment only on these topics:

• 2026-3492 An Ordinance Of The Township Of Middletown, County Of Monmouth, State Of New Jersey Authorizing Purchase Of Block 67, Lot 7.01 From The Middletown First Aid Squad For $224,000.00
• 2026-3493 Ordinance Authorizing Acceptance Of Deed Of Utilities Easement Upon A Portion Of Block 805, Lot 72 (1264 Hwy 35)
• 2026-3494 Bond Ordinance Providing An Appropriation Of $775,000 For The Acquisition Of Easements For The Port Monmouth Flood Control Project By And For The Township Of Middletown In The County Of Monmouth, New Jersey And Authorizing The Issuance Of $736,250 In Bonds Or Notes Of The Township For Financing Part Of The Appropriation.

There will also be a General Public Comments section at the end of the meeting. Members of the public will be able to make comments for up to 5 minutes. Directions will be provided by the Township Clerk.

For Immediate Release – January 16, 2026 

 MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown Township residents are advised that MRC and Truck Stop Productions will begin preparations for a television production at the former Circus Liquors property on Route 35 starting Tuesday, January 20^th. 

The production team will conduct temporary construction and set preparation both inside and outside the building as part of the filming process. The site will be transformed to resemble a gas station, but it will not be operational and does not represent permanent redevelopment of the property. All changes are temporary and will be removed following the conclusion of filming, which is expected to continue through late June.

“Middletown has become a welcoming destination for film and television productions. Our diverse locations, easy access, and close coordination with production teams continue to attract major projects,” said Mayor Tony Perry. “From productions such as Clerks III and Mean Girls: The Musical to Happy Gilmore 2 and The Last Mrs. Parrish, these projects boost our local economy and showcase Middletown as a film-friendly community.”

The Township will continue to coordinate closely with the production team to minimize impacts and will share additional information as needed. Residents with questions are encouraged to contact the Middletown Township Communications Department at 732-615 3226 or communications@middletownnj.org.

Painting with Princesses -  Easter Egg Painting

Painting with Princesses kicks off with Easter egg painting. Each child receives 4 wooden eggs to paint/decorate. Our two princesses will visit and take photos with everyone! The group will be split into two: princesses and painting, and spend 30 minutes at each station before switching to enjoy the other!

Basketball Skills (Grades K–2)

This class introduces young players to basketball in a fun and supportive environment. Kids will learn basic skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and movement through games and simple drills. The focus is on confidence, coordination, and having fun while staying active.

Dates: Mondays, February 9th - March 16th (off 2/16)Time: 4pm-5pm

Players will work on core basketball skills, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense. Classes include skill drills, small games, and controlled scrimmages. The goal is to build strong fundamentals, confidence, and game awareness.

Volleyball Clinic (Grades 3–5)

This clinic teaches the basics of volleyball in a positive and encouraging setting. Players will learn passing, serving, setting, and court movement through drills and games. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, coordination, and learning the game.

Volleyball Clinic (Grades 6–8)

This class helps players improve volleyball skills and overall gameplay. Athletes will work on serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defensive positioning. Sessions include drills and live play to help players gain confidence and consistency.

Speed & Agility (Grades 6–8)

This program focuses on speed, balance, and coordination for all sports. Athletes will work on quickness, footwork, and change of direction through structured drills and games. The goal is to help players move better, build confidence, and stay active.
