The Middletown Township Committee Workshop Meeting will be held on Monday, April 8th at 7:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public. April is Autism Awareness Month. In recognition of this month-long celebration, the Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) is participating in the Blue Envelope Program which was developed to assist drivers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and police officers working with them during a traffic stop. The Blue Envelope helps drivers with organizing their documentation and provides tips and education for officers on how to best assist someone with ASD.
Blue Envelopes are available at the Police Desk window, located at the front entrance of the Middletown Township Police Department Headquarters (1 Kings Highway). The Police Desk window is open 24/7. Enclosed in the Blue Envelope is an emergency contact form. The Blue Envelope Program is sponsored by the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association. Register for MTPL's Community Wide Book Discussion of Circe Happening on Tuesday, 4/9 at 6:30 PM

NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. As part of the Middletown Township Public Library's (MTPL) participation in the NEA Grant, moderator Julia Fuchs will be leading the discussion of the book Circe by Madeline Miller on Tuesday, April 9th from 6:30-8:30 PM in the MTPL's Community Room (55 New Monmouth Road). Registration is NOT required. Circe is an adaptation of various Greek myths, most notably the Odyssey, told from the perspective of the witch Circe. Julia Fuchs is an archaeology student at Rutgers University working on her PhD in Egyptian archaeology in pursuit of a career of studying mummies. She is also a lifelong Middletown resident and a former teen volunteer at the MTPL. She will also be leading an Egyptology program on Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 PM to discuss her work on the mummy of a Ptolemaic-era priestess named Iset-Ha, who is housed at Rutgers University, and other c. 100 ancient Egyptian artifacts. |
