Monmouth County Under Winter Weather Advisory Through Saturday Afternoon

Register for Middletown's Emergency Alerts & Updates 

Three ways to get emergency notifications, such as severe weather updates, from Middletown Township: Text your zip code to 888-777; Visit www.middletownnj.org/nixle to register for/customize notifications; Download the Everbridge Nixle mobile app on Apple Store or Google Play to receive/manage notifications and limit text messages. Less urgent messages will be delivered to your email address on file. If it isn’t on file, text your email address to 888-777 or download the mobile app.

As of this afternoon, Monmouth County is under a winter weather advisory from 10:00 PM Friday until 1:00 PM on Saturday. According to the National Weather Service Mount Holly Station, snowfall is expected to begin late tonight through Saturday morning. We are expecting 2-5 inches. Middletown Department of Public Works crews are currently brining the roads and will begin plowing overnight as snow accumulates. Please slow down and use caution while traveling.

Middletown’s Office of Emergency Management encourages residents with disabilities to register with NJ Register Ready. This free program is designed to assist first responders and emergency planners in identifying community members who may need assistance evacuating in advance of an emergency.

MAC School's Out Day Camp

Register for MAC's School's Out Day Camp Happening Monday, 2/19


The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) will be hosting its School's Out Day Camp on Monday, February 19th! The MAC offers full- and half-day camp programming for elementary school students when Middletown's public school district is closed. Young students are invited to fill their days off from school with crafting, doodling, and more creative activities with Miss Fish, the Doodle Dude, and friends.
       
There are morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions. A half-day costs $38 and a full-day costs $75. Children may be dropped off at the MAC Annex, which is located at the Middletown Reformed Church (121 Kings Highway), any time after 8:30 AM and must be picked up by 3:30 PM.

On Monday, Mayor Tony Perry stopped by Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine (1270 NJ-35) for their ceremonial ribbon cutting! Middletown is one of several locations of this comprehensive medical facility which utilizes modern technology to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.

Township Committee to Host Meeting on Tuesday, 2/20 at 7 PM


The Middletown Township Committee Regular Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will also be made available to watch or listen to by visiting www.middletownnj.org/tcmeeting. If prompted, please enter your name and email address to join. To call in to the meeting, dial 1-408-418-9388. The event access code is 2334 422 2566 followed by #. Enter 2024 if a passcode is required.

Rabies Alert!

2/15/24 Rabies Alert: Rabid Raccoon Found Near Hartshorne and Wigwam Roads


The Middletown Township Animal Control Division responded to a call for a possible altercation between a domestic pet and a raccoon in the area of Hartshorne Road and Wigwam Road. Middletown Animal Control Officers retrieved the racoon and sent it for testing. Lab results confirmed the raccoon was positive for rabies.

Middletown VAC Encourages Veterans to Participate in Guitar4Vets Program at VFW Post 2179

Free guitar lessons for veterans: No experience? No problem! No guitar? Also no problem! 10 free lessons, ALL inclusive. To sign up, contact Bill at g4vnewjersey@gmail.com.

VFW Post 2179 is partnering with the national nonprofit Guitar4Vets to offer free guitar lessons to local veterans. Music has been proven to help reduce panic attacks, nightmares, depression, and flashbacks for veterans suffering from readjustment issues and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or a traumatic brain injury. 

Weekly one-on-one lessons will take place at VFW Post 2179 (1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth) from Monday through Friday over the course of 10 weeks. Participants will receive a guitar to use during lessons. Each veteran will be gifted a free acoustic guitar and accompanying gear when they “graduate” from the program. Proof of veteran status is required. Veterans with limited to no experience are highly preferred.

The Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee (VAC) encourages local veterans to sign up for this wonderful program! Please email Bill at g4vnewjersey@gmail.com for more information and to schedule your first lesson.

In this compelling play, a dynamic ensemble of characters, each with their own unique flair, embarks on a journey to fulfill their dreams against the backdrop of a changing era. Set to the rhythm of funk and soul, witness the aspirations, camaraderie, and challenges that unfold within the walls of this culturally rich and vibrant community hub.

Middletown Health Department & Monmouth County Partner for Free Walk-In Vaccine Clinics

Free Public Health Clinics: Latest available vaccines. Ages 6 months and up. No insurance required. Every other Tuesday, beginning January 30, 2024. 1-3 pm, no appointments needed. 1 Kings Highway, 732-615-2095

Patients under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Patients are NOT required to make an appointment, have insurance, or bring their immunization records.

Monmouth County Mosquito Madness Tire Pick-up Program is Available through Sunday, 3/31

Monmouth County Mosquito Tire Pick-up Program

The Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division will be picking up tires through Sunday, March 31st to help prevent mosquitoes from growing in tires that hold rainwater. The division will come to your property and collect up to 10 car tires without rims. Please call 732-542-3630 and provide your name, address, number of tires, and the location of the tires on your property to arrange a pick-up. You do not need to bring the tires to the curb. 

The Middletown Township Health Department encourages residents to participate in this program if you have tires that are wet and ready to be discarded. If you have tires you want to keep, please either store them inside or securely cover them if they are outside.
