MTPD Swears in New Deputy Chief and Promotes Sergeants and Officers at Township Committee Meeting

At the Monday, April 17th Township Committee Regular Meeting, Lieutenant John Werner was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief and has now joined Middletown Township Police Chief R. Craig Weber and Deputy Chiefs Paul Bailey and John Kaiser in Administration. Sergeants Brian Dilworth and Donald Coates were also promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Officers Michael Heaton, Frank Mazza, and Joshua Midose were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

"It's been said that promotion is not a reward for doing your job, but rather an indication of demonstrated ability to do even more," said Chief Weber. "I can honestly say we have never had a more educated, highly trained cadre of leadership in the department. I have full confidence in each one of these officers to lead the department into the future and know that they have the character and integrity to do what is necessary."

Celebrate Earth Day in the parks! Join Middletown Recreation and the Middletown Green Team TODAY, April 22nd from 9-11 AM to beautify Camp Hope in Lincroft Acres (Orchard Hill Drive). Volunteers will line and maintain its trails. This great community service project is free for all residents.

Middletown South Travel Basketball 9U & 12U Teams Celebrate Championships at Town Hall

At Monday's meeting, the Township Committee also recognized the Middletown South Travel Basketball Program's 9U and 12U teams for their perfect seasons and winning both of their championships! This is the second year in a row that the 9U team accomplished this record and victory. Middletown is so proud to join the program in celebrating its many achievements!

On Thursday, Deputy Mayor Rick Hibell and Township Committeewoman Kim Kratz were honored to stop by Bayshore Family Success Center’s 10-year anniversary celebration at its facility located at the Henry Hudson Trail Activity Center in Leonardo. They presented Darcy Hazard, the director of the center, with a congratulatory certificate to thank the organization for enriching our community members’ lives through resources, events, and vital support.

Middletown Elks Lodge 2179 Helps Local Family Purchase Walker for Toddler

On Wednesday, Mayor Tony Perry attended a presentation at Middletown Elks Lodge 2179 in Belford where two-year-old resident Cameron Fiorello and his family received a check to help them with the cost of a walker that they needed to buy. He and his family are so thrilled that he is now walking independently and greatly appreciate the Elks’ generosity. 

Middletown Health Department & Monmouth County Host Successful Monthly Childhood Immunization Clinic

On Thursday, Middletown Township Health Department and Monmouth County Health Department hosted its monthly Childhood Immunization Clinic at Town Hall. Students from Brookdale Community College's (BCC) Nursing 271 class joined County nurses and got real world training in assisting with patients!

The clinic takes place on the third Thursday of each month from 10 AM to 1 PM. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 732-431-7456.

Exciting Update on Conover Beacon!

The scaffolding around the Conover Beacon in Leonardo is officially up. The next step of this restoration project is to clean and paint the beacon, which is expected to be unveiled this summer!

Chesapeake Bay Helicopters Returning to JCP&L Region for UV/IR Patrols Beginning Wed., 4/26

On Wednesday, April 26th, weather permitting, Chesapeake Bay Helicopters will be returning to the JCP&L Region to perform UV/IR patrols on our transmission lines. These inspections are expected to take approximately 4-5 days to complete. Work is weather dependent.

Join the Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL) TODAY, April 22nd for a panel discussion with local writers and poets from 2-4 PM at its Community Room. For the first hour, you will hear about how they got their start and continue to hone their craft. The second hour will be for all writers to ask questions and collaborate. Artists will also have the opportunity to show off their talents open mic style! The panel features Tobias Carroll, Christine Clemetson, Flora Higgins, Ryan Roberts, and Yao Tsao.

The concert will take place inside the MAC's theater (36 Church Street). The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.

New Jersey Natural Gas Logo

NJNG Offers In-Person Energy Assistance to Customers through Friday, 6/30


Last month, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) announced it will provide customers with personal support — at the company’s Asbury Park and Lakewood walk-in payment centers — to help access energy assistance grants to pay for their energy bills. On select days through June 30, 2023, representatives from local Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies will be on hand to help customers determine eligibility for grants and other energy assistance programs and with the application process.
