Throughout January, "Hockey in Middletown" (HIM) held a month-long fundraiser to raise money for Middletown-based nonprofit Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer. The organization hosted three games in which Middletown High School North's and South's hockey teams competed to fundraise for the nonprofit and in memory of Luca Iacono. Luca was a beloved 11-year-old resident who passed away from cancer in 2019. Money was not only raised from the tickets sold, but also through fundraising pages from Middletown High Schools North and South hockey teams, as well as Rumson-Fair Haven's hockey team! As of right now, more than $27,000 has been raised. Mayor Tony Perry was honored to attend the last game on Tuesday evening and support this important cause.
