Line the Streets and Show Your Support for Veterans at 65th Annual Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, 11/6 at 1 PM

Veterans Day Parade 2022
The parade's approximately 2.3-mile route will begin at Bayview Elementary School, travel down Leonardville Road and proceed through Campbell’s Junction, turn right at Cherry Tree Farm Road, turn right onto Wilson Avenue, and turn right at Garrett Place, ending at the rear entrance to VFW Post 2179.

The theme of this year’s parade is "For Those Who Fought for Our Tomorrows". Refreshments will be served at VFW Post 2179 (1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth) immediately following the parade.

The reviewing stand will be located at the Township's future veterans housing location across the street from Carvel on Leonardville Road in Belford.

Last weekend, members and leaders of Cub Scout Pack 122, sponsored by New Monmouth Elementary School, unveiled its new "Little Free Pantry" across the street from the Middletown Reformed Church (121 Kings Highway). The pack partnered with the church to create this wonderful opportunity for residents to donate and/or take nonperishables and supplies.

The following quote is painted on the pantry: "Give what you can. Take what you need." We encourage everyone to check it out and follow this motto!

 Please feel free to drop off your November General Election mail-in ballot at one of our two ballot box locations: Croydon Hall or the MTPL.


Want to see if your ballot was received? Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is reminding Monmouth County voters who choose to vote by mail that they can sign up for the County’s enhanced ballot tracking notification system: BallotTrax. Voters who sign up for the Monmouth County BallotTrax will receive alerts of when their ballots are received by the County Board of Elections for counting. Voters can opt to enable notifications by text message or email, and can sign up for the software at MonmouthBallotTrax.com.

Middletown Township Committee to Host Special Workshop Meeting on Wednesday, 11/9 at Town Hall


The Middletown Township Committee will be having a Special Workshop Meeting on Wednesday, November 9th at 5:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public. It will also be made available to watch or listen to by visiting www.middletownnj.org/tcmeeting.

MAC School's Out Day Camp

Day Camp Next Week (Monday, 11/7 - Friday, 11/11)


The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) will be opening its School's Out Day Camp from Monday, November 7th to Friday, November 11th! The MAC offers full and half-day camp programming for elementary school students when Middletown's public school district is closed. Young students are invited to fill their day off from school with crafting, doodling, and more creative activities with Miss Fish, the Doodle Dude & friends!

There are morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions. A half-day costs $38 and a full-day costs $75. Children may be dropped off at the MAC Annex, which is located at the Middletown Reformed Church (121 Kings Highway), any time after 8:30 AM and must be picked up by 3:30 PM.

Juniors and seniors enrolled at Middletown High School North or South are invited to a meet & greet at the Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street) to network with professionals, explore different fields, and learn about career opportunities!

This event will be hosted by the Middletown Township Public School District and Middletown Community Affairs Council on Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 PM.

Free Paper Shredding Event at Middletown
High School North on Saturday, 11/12 from 9 - 1 PM

Paper Shredding
Monmouth County will be holding its annual paper shredding event in Middletown on Saturday, November 12th from 9 AM - 1 PM at Middletown High School North.

Middletown residents may shred up to 100 pounds, which is equivalent to four office paper boxes or four large sized trash bags. All paper will be shredded on location in the mobile truck, and the event will end either once the mobile truck is full or at its scheduled end time. Large binder clips must be removed from documents, but staples and paper clips can remain.

Traffic Safety and Detours
- Kings Highway East, between Stillwell Road and Portland Road, is scheduled to be repaved from Monday, November 7th through Tuesday, November 15th, weather permitting. Construction activities will occur between 8 AM - 5 PM. MTPD traffic control officers and staff from the Public Works Department will be onsite to facilitate access. Please obey signage and follow all instructions from traffic control officers so everyone remains safe.

Step Into Shakespeare's World with "Now I Am Alone" at the MAC on Saturday, 11/5 at 3 PM

Dunbar Repertory "Now I Am Alone"

Join the MAC (36 Church Street) for a very special performance of "Now I Am Alone",  where the works and words of William Shakespeare will come alive by renowned actor Geoffrey Owens. The production, put together by Dunbar Repertory Company, will take place on Saturday, November 5th at 3 PM and is a 90-minute roller coaster of Shakespeare's comedies, tragedies, and romances!

Tickets cost $9 and will be sold at the MAC's door.

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the MTPL (55 New Monmouth Road) with Bright Star Theatre's "Cherokee Tales" on Monday, November 7th at 11 AM! The program will teach attendees about the rich culture of the Cherokee people through a collection of Cherokee myths, legends, and folktales. Pre-registration is required.

Schools may be closed next week, but the MTPL (55 New Monmouth Road) will be recognizing National STEM Day by zooming with a zoologist!

Zoologist/Marine Biologist Katrina Poremba will share her experiences about diving in the Amazon River for scientific research! Patrons are welcome to join either via Zoom or in person at the Community Room where the MTPL will be streaming the video chat on its big screen.
