Earth Day 2022
Earth Day Food Drive Recap
Mayor Tony Perry and Recycling and Clean Communities Coordinator Jessi Lynn Ticino proudly smile with all the donations from our Earth Day Food Drive with local nonprofit Move for Hunger!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our Earth Day Food Drive earlier today! Middletown Township was honored to partner with local nonprofit Move for Hunger to fight food waste.

According to Feeding America, approximately 40% of high-quality food is thrown away rather than eaten every year. This Earth Day, residents like YOU helped decrease that number by donating good, unused foods!

Once again, Happy Earth Day from Middletown!

Township Committee Proclaims April as National Donate Life Month in Middletown

National Donate Life Month 2022
Pictured from left: Middletown resident Ron Walsh, NJ Sharing Network Volunteer Nancy Buddle, Vice Chair of the NJ Sharing Network Foundation Board Jane Buckiewicz, and Mayor Tony Perry

At Monday's meeting, the Township Committee proclaimed April as National Donate Life Month. Two representatives from NJ Sharing Network and one Middletown resident all spoke about the importance of organ and tissue transplantation and how it has directly impacted their lives.

One organ donor can save 8 lives and one tissue donor can restore health to over 75 others.

Today is National Donate Life Blue & Green Day! We encourage our residents to wear blue and green to help bring awareness to this important cause.

Click HERE to watch the Monday, April 18th Township Committee Regular Meeting on the Township's YouTube channel or catch it on our TV channel (VerizonFIOS Channel 26/Comcast Cable Channel 20) every night at 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM until Sunday, May 1st.

Laurel Avenue Closed As of Monday, 4/18

Traffic and Safety Detours

In response to the bridge strike that occurred last month on Laurel Avenue between Holland Road and Route 35, NJ Transit is performing repairs on the North Jersey Coast Line Bridge that goes over Laurel Avenue in both Holmdel and Middletown. These repairs will cause various lane closures along Laurel Avenue for approximately two months. As of Monday, April 18th, Laurel Ave. is completely closed. Detours (directing residents to Holland Rd. to Church St. to New Monmouth Rd. to Rt. 35) have been put in place, but we encourage residents to plan alternate routes. Officers are also present to help regulate traffic.
