Are you Eligible for Flood Elevation Assistance?
You may be eligible for elevation assistance through a new federal grant if you meet any of the following criteria:
- Your primary residence was "substantially damaged" by Superstorm Sandy and has yet to be elevated.
- You have an active policy with the National Flood Insurance Program.
- You have a history of repetitive flood insurance claims.
According to data provided by FEMA, nearly 100 homes in Middletown may be eligible for elevation assistance, some with a $0 match from the homeowner. The Township is actively working toward acquiring elevation assistance for your home through a new federal grant.
Middletown maintains a list of potentially eligible structures and will send out a mail notice of this announcement to all on the list. If you are unsure of your status, please contact the Middletown Floodplain Manager at skrause@middletownnj.org or 732-615-2000 ext. 2167 to discuss. Leave your full name, contact number, and full address of the property in all email correspondence and voicemails.
