Veterans Day Parade
Sunday, November 7, 2021
VFW Post 2179 and Middletown Township invite residents to the 64th annual Veterans Day Parade. The event will be held on Sunday, November 7th at 1:00 PM and begin at Bayview Elementary School.
Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.

Middletown Township and VFW Post 2179 are proud to put on this great community event for our residents. The parade will consist of a Grand Marshal, elected officials, antique cars and motorcycles, marching bands, scouts, bicycle rides, our first responder vehicles and of course, veterans, to honor and recognize. The parade will step off from Bayview Elementary School at 1:00pm. The parade route will travel through historic Campbell's Junction where it will pass the reviewing stand. Marchers will continue on Leonardville Road, making a right onto Cherry Tree Farm Road. The parade will then turn right onto Wilson Avenue traveling the home stretch down to Garret Place and ending at the VFW. All are invited to continue the celebration with our veterans and enjoy a hot dog lunch at VFW Post 2179.
Bike Parade
Middletown Township welcomes you to celebrate with us in a Bike Parade as a component of our parade! This is not a race. We encourage bikers to decorate their bikes in patriotic fashion! If you are representing a scout group, sports team or more, please feel free to wear a shirt or show your support for your organization.
Please note, the parade route is approximately 2.25mi long. Walkers and training wheels are not allowed. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian - parents and guardians must also be registered and riding a bike. Bikers under 17 years old are required to wear a helmet; all bikers are encouraged to wear one for safety. Free to register at www.middletownnj.org/signup.
