We invite you to join us in honoring our veterans at the 67th Annual Veterans Day Parade this Sunday, November 3rd! The route will begin at Bayview Elementary School (300 Leonardville Road) at 1:30 PM, travel down Leonardville Road through historic Campbell’s Junction, and end at the St. Mary’s Church parking lot (19 Cherry Tree Farm Road). There will be a post parade party at St. Mary's with free burgers, hot dogs, and cookies, kids inflatables, food trucks, live music, and more! If your home or business is on the route, we encourage you to show your support by decorating it with a patriotic theme, whether that is with red, white, and blue balloons or a U.S. flag. Campbell's Junction is the best viewing spot, so we recommend gathering there. Whether you're a veteran or community supporter, your presence will make the day even more special. We hope to see you on Sunday! Visit middletownnj.org/parade to view a map of the route.

Community Comes Together for Middletown Day

Middletown Day was a rockin' success! Last Sunday, Middletown Recreation hosted its annual fall festival. Thousands of community members came to Croydon Hall where they were able to shop from local businesses and crafters, enjoy delicious food and beverages, check out first responder vehicles and equipment, hop on a hay ride, meet some furry friends at the petting zoo, participate in a Halloween parade, and more! A New Jersey State Police helicopter also landed at the event and allowed attendees to get a close-up tour. The fun day ended with a special performance by Brian Kirk and the Jirks. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Click HERE to view photos from the event.

Middletown and Monmouth Conservation Foundation Partner to Create Public Open Space in North Middletown
Middletown Township Mayor Tony Perry and Monmouth Conservation Foundation (MCF) President Matt Cohen, representing the county’s only nonprofit land trust, have announced a partnership to create new, permanent green space on a three-acre parcel in North Middletown. “The Township Committee and I will not relent to developers that want to build high-density housing as we continue to fight for open space preservation,” said Mayor Perry. “We have made significant investments in protecting our remaining open space, including designating this natural oasis on Route 36 as a respite for our community in this highly developed and commercial area.” Located between Route 36 and Thompson Avenue near the iconic Polar Bear Ice Cream stand, the property is a forested parcel that has developed wetland areas due to run-off from the highway. It is densely wooded and would require improvements for public access. MCF and Middletown Township have a shared goal of turning it into a passive park. After the lesson, Mayor Perry handed out special Mayor's Office stickers to the students and took a group photo with the class. MTFD and Fire Prevention Inform Residents about Fire Restrictions Currently in Effect
Middletown Township has been placed under a Red Flag Warning by the US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly and New Jersey Forest Fire Service. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.
Under a Red Flag Warning, ALL fires in wooded areas will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity. This includes all fire pits, fire stoves, chimineas, drums, etc. that are fueled by a wood-based source. No charcoal fires are allowed. This also includes any flammable liquid items, such as tiki torches, outdoor candles, etc.
The MTFD and Fire Marshal's Office remind our residents to please discard any smoking materials fully.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Fire Marshal Buddy Skelly at 732-615-2272.
