Middletown Hosts 22nd Anniversary of 9/11 Memorial Service on Monday, 9/11 at 7:00 PM

The community is invited to attend our memorial service to honor and remember those we lost in the the World Trade Center attack 22 years ago. There will be a moment of silence, wreath tribute, and a candlelit walk through the Middletown Township World Trade Center Memorial Gardens (36 Church Street next to the Middletown Arts Center).

Middletown Recreation Daddy-Daughter Beach Bash

Middletown Recreation's Daddy-Daughter Beach Bash is back on Thursday, August 24th! Attendees are invited to Ideal Beach (Bayside Parkway, North Middletown) to enjoy a DJ, fun activities, and a delicious dinner. This year's theme is Mermaids & Pirates and is geared for girls entering K-6 grades.

If you need help registering or transferring credit, please call 732-615-2260. If you signed up for the June event your tickets with not be valid until you confirm you can attend the new date. 

Please remember to bring your beach chairs and blankets. If the event cannot be held outdoors for some reason, it will be moved to Croydon Hall Gym (900 Leonardville Road) that same night.

Join the Middletown Township Public Library (55 New Monmouth Road) on Wednesday afternoon for an author visit with Laurel Davis Huber! 

"The Velveteen Daughter reveals for the first time the true story of two remarkable women: Margery Williams Bianco, the author of one of the most beloved children’s books of all time, The Velveteen Rabbit, and her daughter Pamela, a world-renowned child prodigy artist whose fame at one time eclipses her mother’s."

The author will be at the library. You may come to the library and participate "in person" in the computer lab (in-person registration) or you may join the chat  virtually (online registration).

Middletown Township Announces New Mobile Food Ordinance

New Food Truck Permit Ordinance

Middletown Township is pleased to announce a new Mobile Food Ordinance, Ordinance No. 2023-3378, permitting and licensing Itinerant Retail Food Handling Establishments. 

The new Ordinance now allows for two different types of mobile food licenses issued by the Health Department. Additionally, Special Fire Permits/Type 1 have been changed and Zoning approvals have also been added. Note that there are Health, Fire, and Zoning fees associated with most events.

New Jersey American Water Reports on Lead Service Line Replacement Program

NJAW Lead Service Line Replacement Program

New Jersey American Water (NJAW) announced that it is meeting NJ's 10-year lead service line replacement target with more than 4,000 lead and galvanized steel water service lines replaced to date. To date, 24,000 lines have been identified as needing replacement so far.

Monmouth County Accepting Written Comments About South Laurel Ave. Bridge Study until Monday, 8/28

Monmouth County, in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), hosted a Public Information Center (PIC) meeting in June to inform local residents, officials, businesses, and the general public about the Concept Development Study for the Operational Safety Improvements to South Laurel Avenue (CR 52) at the Railroad Bridge, located in the townships of Holmdel and Middletown.

The presentation from the PIC can be found on YouTube. Written comments regarding the study and presentation will be accepted through Monday, August 28th. Comments may be mailed to the Community Involvement Facilitator, Nicole Pace-Addeo, Stokes Creative Group, 1666 Route 206, Vincentown, NJ 08088. You may also email them to npace@stokescg.com.
