Middletown Township Earns Silver Recertification Status from Sustainable Jersey Program

On Tuesday, Middletown Township was honored at the Sustainable Jersey Annual Luncheon for becoming recertified as a silver town! Sustainable Jersey is a program that provides municipalities, schools, and school districts with tools, training, and incentives to pursue sustainability programs in New Jersey. Municipalities must meet a minimum of 350 points to achieve silver status.
Middletown is humbled for this recognition and very proud to work toward a greener and healthier township!

Middletown's Veterans Affairs Committee Receives "We Value Our Veterans" Award

On Veterans Day, Middletown Township and its all-volunteer Veterans Affairs Committee (VAC) were recognized with Governor Philip Murphy's "We Value Our Veterans Award". Governor Murphy and Brigadier General Lisa J. Hou, D.O. (the Adjutant General and Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs) presented the award at the state's official Veterans Day ceremony, which was held in the Vietnam Era Museum at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Holmdel.
The award recognizes communities, businesses, and academic institutions who honor the sacrifices, patriotism, and bravery of New Jersey’s service members. VAC Chairman and Vietnam veteran Bob Siemer proudly accepted the award on the Township's and VAC's behalf.

Earlier this week, two 8th grade sessions graduated from Middletown Municipal Alliance's Project P.L.U.S. (Peer Leaders Understanding Students)! The free and after-school 4-week program teaches students the personal, health, and legal consequences of dangerous substances. It also guides them to make good life choices and become a leader in their community.

Get together with your high school's alumni TOMORROW for a friendly scrimmage to crown the soccer champs of Middletown - High School North vs. South!
It costs $5 to play, but Middletown Recreation is also asking participants to bring a nonperishable canned food item for its food drive. All donations received will be given to Middletown Social Services to be distributed to residents in need.

Township Committee to Host Regular Meeting on Monday, 11/21The Middletown Township Committee Regular Meeting will be held on Monday, November 21st at 7:00 PM in the courtroom at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway). The meeting is open to the public.

Celebrate Late Musician Bob Kasper at the MAC's Music Café on Sunday, 11/20 from 4 - 6 PM

Join the Middletown Arts Center (MAC) this Sunday for a very special Music Café in honor of late singer-songwriter Bob Kasper, who passed away last October from pancreatic cancer. Bob left the world with great memories and a catalogue of heartfelt songs, and his beautiful soul touched the lives of all who knew him.
Friends and fellow members of the local singer-songwriter scene will gather to celebrate his songs including: Bill Anania, Rudy Baker, Christian Beach, Gorgo Beach, Tim Borkovski, Paul During, Linda Eckman, Shelly Hesson, Al Milewski, Barbara Paskin, Frank Patrouch, Bob Savoy, and George Wirth.

Traverse Through Poricy Park at Middletown Recreation's Turkey Trot Hike on Wednesday, 11/23 at 2:30 PM

Come stretch your legs before your Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday, November 23rd at 2:30 PM! Join Middletown Recreation to hike the trails of Poricy Park (345 Oak Hill Road) and remember to enjoy the beautiful scenery as you keep your eyes peeled for wildlife!
The hike will be about an hour and roughly 2 miles. Adults are required to stay with all children. This activity is geared more for people ages 5+, but younger hikers are also welcome. The Turkey Trot Hike costs $5 per person.
