Middletown Recycling Center Renovations
Continue to Progress

Recycling Center Update

The Middletown Recycling Center (52 Kanes Lane) will be closed for renovations this month. While construction is taking place, limited items are being accepted at the recycling drop-off site at the Middletown Train Station (located in the parking lot off Middletown-Lincroft Road). Visit www.middletownnj.org/recyclingcenter to see what is and isn't being accepted.

Construction activities have been progressing at the Recycling Center. New safety bollards have been installed. A deteriorated corrugated metal drainage pipe servicing the Recycling Center has been replaced with a new heavy duty plastic drainage pipe. Concrete curbs, sidewalk, and dumpster pads have been installed. The site has also been rough graded in preparation for paving operations.

How to Prevent Spotted Lanternflies from Spreading

Spotted Lanternflies Have Returned: Tips for How to Prevent the Spread and Report Sightings to NJDA

Spotted lanternflies are being spotted everywhere! This insect is a serious invasive pest that feeds on sap from over 70 different plant species. Spotted lanternflies can negatively impact our agriculture, economy, and everyday life through the honeydew they excrete, which eventually turns into mold.

The Middletown Health Department advises residents to kill and report them to the NJDA when spotted. The Middletown Health Department also encourages residents to utilize the NJDA's checklist for spotted lanternfly quarantine areas, in an effort to stop the spread.
