PI Sports, a Kentucky-based firm, has been engaged by Middletown Township and the Middletown Township Board of Education to conduct a needs assessment and future-use analysis of a proposed indoor sports and recreation facility in Port Monmouth. Your responses to this survey will help us evaluate potential opportunities for this proposed facility.
 
The survey will only take about 5 minutes to complete. Please respond by
Friday, February 25th.

MTPD Announces Police Youth Week 2022 Dates:

Registration Opens Monday, 2/21 at 10 AM

Police Youth Week 2022

The Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD) will be hosting its annual Police Youth Week program this summer from June 27th to July 1st for children between the ages of 8 and 11, July 18th to July 22nd for children between the ages of 8 and 11, and August 15th to August 19th for children between the ages of 12 and 13. Each program begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday.

Registration will begin on Monday, February 21st at 10 AM. Registration will only take place through Middletown Recreation's
CommunityPass.

Municipal Alliance Announces Mental Health
First Aid Training Dates:

Register for Youth Training by Saturday, 2/12

MMA Mental Health First Aid Trainings

The Middletown Municipal Alliance is partnering with the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County to provide free Mental Health First Aid Trainings on Saturday, February 26th and Saturday, April 2nd from 8 AM - 5 PM. Training sessions are open to all, regardless of experience, and capped at 30 participants.

The first session will be the Youth Mental Health First Aid Training on Saturday, February 26th from 8 AM - 5 PM. This virtual training session will teach adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use orders in children and adolescents (ages 6-18) and help connect them to the appropriate care. The deadline to register is Saturday, February 12th.

Mayor Tony Perry Speaks with Comcast Newsmakers about Next Generation Support Program

Earlier this week, Mayor Tony Perry spoke with Comcast Newsmakers host Jill Horner about how the Township and Board of Education plan on providing academic and emotional support for students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through its Next Generation Support Program. 

The Township will be using funds from the American Rescue Plan to start the program which will provide free tutoring, as well as counseling services offered through the Middletown Municipal Alliance (MMA). MMA's free mental health first aid trainings will begin at the end of the month. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer counselor, visit

Mayor's Office Hours Return Beginning Wednesday, 2/9

Mayor's Office Hours
In-person Mayor's Office Hours will return, beginning Wednesday, February 9th.

Mayor Tony Perry will be holding office hours on the second Wednesday of every month from 5 - 6:30 PM. Residents are encouraged to sign up for a 15-minute appointment and stop by the Mayor's Office at Town Hall (1 Kings Highway) to have a one-on-one conversation to discuss their concerns.

The Middletown Township Committee Workshop Meeting on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 7:00 PM will be open to the public and made available live through Webex Event Center.

Annual Mayor's Cup Game

On Thursday, Mayor Tony Perry and Deputy Mayor Rick Hibell were honored to attend the Annual Mayor's Cup Game between crosstown rivals Middletown High School North and Middletown High School South. Mayor Perry began the game by dropping the ceremonial puck. The game results were 5-1, with Middletown High School North bringing home the Mayor's Cup for the first time in five years!

Congratulations to the Middletown North Lions on their hard-earned victory!

Earlier this week, Middletown-based businesses Ross Brewing Co. (909 Main Street) and Almost Home General (276 Sunnyside Road) announced their partnership for a special item! The two worked together to create Buns & Barley, a cinnamon bun stout that was created at Ross Brewing Co. with Almost Home General's cinnamon buns.

Mayor Tony Perry was honored to celebrate this union. We are proud to support our businesses, and love to see our businesses supporting each other!

MTPL Virtual Author Visit with Mike Ritland on Monday, 2/7 at 7 PM

Join the Middletown Township Public Library (55 New Monmouth Road) on Monday, February 7th for a virtual author visit with Mike Ritland! The event will begin at 7 PM and take place via Zoom. The author will be remote, but patrons have the option of participating from the library's community room. Registration is required.

Noted author and Navy Seal veteran Mike Ritland will lead a discussion centered on his book, "Navy Seal Dogs: My Tale of Training Canines for Combat." He will share the true story of how he discovered his passion and grew up to become the trainer of the nation's most elite military working dogs.

VIP Theatricals will be presenting "Accidentally on Purpose" at the Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street) this weekend! Performances will take place on Friday, February 4th at 8 PM, Saturday, February 5th at 8 PM, and Sunday, February 6th at 3 PM. Tickets cost $30 per person. All patrons must be vaccinated and wear a mask.

The vaccine clinic at the Middletown Township Public Library (55 New Monmouth Road) is administering COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots by appointment only for people ages 5+ on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in addition to its regular hours on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. 

Walk-ins can receive their vaccines and booster shots on Wednesdays between the hours of 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM.


You do not need to be a Middletown resident to register. Those seeking vaccines should bring their ID and insurance card if they have one. Those seeking boosters should also bring their vaccine card.

Monmouth County Partners with Vault Health and Brookdale Community College to Provide State-funded COVID-19 Testing Site

The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and Vault Health have partnered to provide a COVID-19 testing site at Brookdale Community College’s Robert J. Collins Arena, which is being funded by the New Jersey Department of Health.

The testing site will be open at least three days per week through February with saliva PCR tests and rapid antigen tests available. Results will be provided for PCR tests in 24 to 48 hours.
