At Monday's Township Committee Meeting, Mayor Tony Perry and the Township Committee, along with Middletown Township Fire Department (MTFD) Chiefs Anthony Fulciniti and William Kane Jr., presented Life Saving Valor Awards to three Middletown residents who worked together to rescue individuals from a house fire on Thanksgiving morning.
Arthur Kaylor was driving home because he forgot some belongings when he saw a house on fire. Anthony Watterson happened to drive a different route home, which led him in the direction of the flames. The two strangers worked together, alongside Justin Lombardi who was inside the house, to break a door and get both Justin and the homeowner to safety.
Middletown is proud to have residents whose first instincts are to help others. Thank you Arthur, Anthony, and Justin for this true act of heroism!

Author Candace Faust, Illustrator Morgan Spicer, and Norman, the dog who inspired it all, were there to read, sell, and sign books! Proceeds went to the Monmouth County SPCA.
"Norman the Christmas Dog" is a children's book about the true story of one dog's Christmas wish to be rescued and find a family of his very own.
"Norman the Christmas Dog" can be found at several stores, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
