Recent Township Happenings & Events 

TOWN HALL PURPLE FOR 19TH AMENDMENT
Town Hall is lit up purple to celebrate the 19th Amendment’s ratification centennial. On February 9, 1920, New Jersey ratified the 19th Amendment, confirming women’s right to vote. Town Hall will be illuminated purple, a suffrage color, through the end of next week. At our next Township Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 18th, we will be joined by several women elected officials across Monmouth County and some very impressive young ladies from Middletown who are doing great things and beyond to celebrate this historic anniversary. 
Four Chaplains Service
On Sunday, February 9th, VFW Post & Auxiliary 2179 hosted its annual service commemorating the heroism of the Four Chaplains who sacrificed their lives for their shipmates on the Dorchester during WWII. 
Two community members, Andy Butzko and Ruth Wood Allen, received The Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award for their years of dedication to bettering the lives of veterans and those in need.  Mayor Tony Perry and Committeewoman Pat Snell were honored to recognize these inspiring individuals as well as remember and revere that day. 
Monmouth in Focus
Mayor Tony Perry recently sat down with Freeholder Director Tom Arnone to film a segment of "Monmouth in Focus" to discuss 2020 goals and Middletown's strong partnership with the County. We will be airing this on the Township's Municipal TV channel (Verizon FiOS Channel 26/Comcast Cable Channel 20) in the near future so stay tuned!
Mobile Town Hall

We'll be bringing back our Mobile Town Hall events starting next week! Our first will be on Thursday, 2/20 at Lincroft Fire Company from 6-8 PM. These events will be held in different neighborhoods to provide residents with an opportunity to meet with the Mayor & Township Committee, ask questions of Township employees, register for events and take care of certain Town Hall business closer to home. MTFD 45 Years of Service

On Sunday, February 9th, Old Village Fire Company honored Michael Spratford for his 45 years of service to the Middletown Township Fire Department and the residents of our community. He has held every rank there is to hold within the company and we congratulate and thank him for his dedicated service!

Middletown United Methodist Church Honors Crossing Guards
Middletown United Methodist Church honored our Crossing Guards at their 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off this past Saturday, February 8th. Mayor Perry, as well as Committee members Kevin Settembrino and Pat Snell, were on hand to judge the chili contest and show support for Crossing Guard Supervisor Dominick Donatelli and congratulate our Crossing Guards on this well-deserved recognition!

Community Comes Out for "Climb with a Cop" Event to Benefit New Jersey Special Olympics

Climb with a Cop
The Climb with a Cop event supporting the Special Olympics of NJ at The Gravity Vault in Middletown this past Saturday was a huge success. A big thank you to the Middletown, Hazlet and Oceanport Borough Police Departments for raising money for a great cause. Mayor Tony Perry and Committee members Pat Snell and Kevin Settembrino stopped by and everyone got to witness an exciting neck-and-neck race between Mayor Perry and Hazlet Mayor Mike Glackin to the top!
Boy Scout Troop 205

Deputy Mayor Tony Fiore visited Boy Scout Troop 205 out of Nut Swamp Elementary School this week to talk about how making a better world starts right within your community. These kids are sure to do great things!

Volunteers Needed for Middletown Township Police Department Domestic Violence Response Team


Middletown Township Police Department is currently recruiting volunteers to serve on the Middletown Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT). In affiliation with 180 Turning Lives Around (180), and with the assistance of the response team volunteers, Middletown Township Police Department continues to make available this service to victims of domestic violence during the initial stages of a highly emotional and traumatic experience. 180 will be conducting an intensive 40-hour mandatory training course for Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) volunteers April 21st – May 14th, Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays 6:00p-9:30pm (Tuesdays - Holmdel Community Center, 6 Crawfords Corner Road/Wednesdays & Thursdays - Hazlet Police Headquarters Courtroom, 255 Middle Road).  Applications are currently being accepted.

Renew Your Dog License Before March 1st to Avoid Additional
Late Fees


The Middletown Health Department would like to remind residents that all dog licenses should have been renewed by Jan 31st. Any dog license that was not renewed will incur a $5.00 late fee through February 29th. If you haven’t renewed yet, please do so before the next late fee of an additional $2.00 starts on March 1st.

All dogs and cats must be licensed in Middletown. You may obtain a license online 
through the citizen portal, at the Health Department Office (180 Main Street, Port Monmouth), or by mailing your license to the Health Department's attention to 1 Kings Highway, Middletown, NJ 07748. Please call 732-615-2097 for more information.
