Middletown Police Arrest Man on Multiple Charges

Middletown – On November 30, 2021, Cholo Beard, 33, of Middletown was arrested by Middletown Detective First Class Adam Colfer, Ptl. Stephen Greenwood and Detective Richard Johnson of the Keansburg Police Department on Charges of Failure to Register under New Jersey Criminal Statute 2C:7-2a3 and Failure to Notify of a Change of Address under New Jersey Statute 2C:7-2d.

Beard provided Detective Colfer with a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest.  When advised that he was under arrest, Beard pushed past officers and attempted to flee.  When apprehended, Beard resisted arrest and intentional struck Detective Colfer in the face with an elbow, causing significant bodily injury to the officer.  Beard was subsequently taken into custody.  Beard faces additional charges of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Hindering One’s Own Apprehension, and Obstruction of the Administration of Law.  Beard was processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution where he is currently lodged.
