[ARCHIVED] Middletown Township Partners with VNACJ to Provide COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shots

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Updated 12/9/21

Pre-Registration Required for Mondays and Strongly Recommended for Wednesdays

For Immediate Release – December 9, 2021

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Middletown Township joined forces with the VNA of Central Jersey Community Health Center in September to provide booster shots for those who are eligible, as well as COVID-19 vaccines, at the Middletown Township Public Library (55 New Monmouth Road). VNACJ Community Health Center nurses will be administering Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J/Janssen booster shots in the Community Room at the library on Mondays from 9 AM to 2 PM and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 5:30 PM for the remainder of 2021.

“As soon as the COVID-19 vaccine became available earlier this year, Middletown began its efforts to provide our residents with immediate access,” said Mayor Perry. “Our continued partnership with the VNACJ to provide the booster shot reaffirms our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community.”

People ages 5 and over who have yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19 are welcome to receive their first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine at the library. The Moderna  vaccine will be available for first and second doses for those over the age of 18. Visit www.middletownnj.org/covid19 for information about who is eligible for a booster shot.

“We are honored to partner with Mayor Perry and the Township Committee, the Board of Health, and the staff and trustees of the Middletown Township Public Library, to protect the health of Middletown area residents against this deadly and persistent virus,” said Christopher Rinn, CEO of VNACJ Community Health Center, a federally qualified health center with four Monmouth County locations.

Appointments are required on Mondays and for children between 5 and 11 years old. Walk-ins are welcome on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Pre-register at www.middletownnj.org/vnacj. You do not need to be a Middletown resident in order to register for this clinic. Those seeking vaccines should bring their ID and insurance card if they have one. Those seeking boosters should also bring their vaccine card or the docket app on their phone. Face masks are mandatory at this vaccine clinic.
