[ARCHIVED] Middletown Installs “Smart” Parking Meters at Ideal Beach and Train Station Parking Lots

Ideal Beach parking meters

Users Can Pay Via mPay2Park App or Credit/Debit Card

For Immediate Release – May 28, 2021

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – In preparation for Memorial Day Weekend, Middletown Township has completed the installation of user-friendly “smart” parking meters at the Ideal Beach parking lot. The meters were also installed at the Daily Parking Lot of the Middletown Train Station at the beginning of the year. The “smart” parking meters, some of which are solar, offer several payment options. You can pay with a credit card (Visa, Master Card, Amex and Discover), debit card, or the mPay2Park mobile app.

By using the pay-by-app option, users will now have the ability to remotely add time to their parking transaction (up to the space’s time limit) from their mobile device.

In order to use the pay-by-app option, users will need to establish an “mPay2Park” account by downloading the free mPay2Park app on the iTunes or Google Play app store. For more information about the app, visit www.mpay2park.com.

Similar to EZPass, the system charges each parking transaction to an established account. Individuals already using this pay-by-app option at any other pay stations or locations are already registered and do not need to register again. Once registered, simply follow the directions listed on the front of the meter.

Please note that the Daily Parking at the Train Station only has one zone, Zone #12501. The Ideal Beach lot is Zone #12502. Click HERE for step by step instructions on how to pay via the app.

If you have any questions about this new payment option, please call the Middletown Traffic Bureau at 732-615-2045 or send an email to parking@middletownnj.org for assistance.
