MIDDLETOWN, NJ – On Tuesday, April 7th, Governor Phil Murphy signed an Executive Order that closed all State parks and forests as well as County parks to help flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of April 8th, Township parks, including Ideal and Leonardo beaches, will remain open provided the community maintains social distancing.

"During this time, it is important to get fresh air and continue to exercise to improve both your physical and mental wellbeing," said Mayor Tony Perry. "We will keep our parks open as long as we can, but we need the community’s support in remaining cautious and sensible in how they use them."

As a reminder, all play structures/playgrounds remain closed, fields and courts are closed to any organized or unorganized team play, practices or training, and all field permits have been canceled and lights have been turned off.

We urge our community members to practice safe social distancing. For the most up-to-date information Township information regarding COVID-19, please visit www.middletownnj.org/coronavirus.
