Middletown Township Police Department is currently recruiting volunteers to serve on the Middletown Auxiliary Police. You can download an application at www.middletownnj.org/AuxiliaryPolice. Applications are accepted year-round.

The Middletown Township Auxiliary Police duties include traffic control, security, and patrol for major events, road races, fairs, high school sporting events, and more. The Auxiliary Academy starts in March and you will learn NJ Criminal Code, Title 39 Motor Vehicle Laws, side-handle baton, handcuffing, pepper spray, drill and ceremony, and more.

Basic requirements for volunteers to apply include that they must be eighteen years of age or older, live within a five mile radius of Middletown, have access to reliable transportation, possess a valid driver’s license, be willing to serve on an on-call basis during major incidents, submit to a background investigation and fingerprinting, and successfully complete the mandatory training.
