Last night, the Middletown Arts Center was honored with a 2017 Spinnaker Award for Arts and Culture presented by the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC).
“It’s a real honor to receive this award as we gear up to celebrate the Middletown Art Center’s tenth anniversary,” said Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger, Ph.D. “We’re proud that the Eastern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce shares our assertion that the Middletown Arts Center is an amazing place where people of all ages can enjoy local culture and the arts.”
The Middletown Arts Center is a 23,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility where approximately 50,000 visitors come from Middletown to Manhattan to enjoy performances, exhibits, classes, demonstrations and camps centering on the arts. The center engages approximately 4,000 artists who instruct, exhibit and perform. The MAC’s diverse, year-round cultural enrichment features more than 1,200 programs catering to all age groups, abilities and interests. Classes range from ballroom dancing and ballet to watercolor painting and computer sciences.
The center’s theatrical, musical, dance and comedic performance schedule and ticket sales can be accessed on middletownarts.org. The Middletown Arts Center is operated by a non-profit 501c3, the Middletown Township Cultural and Arts Council.
