Middletown Township is holding another Community Visioning Session to get the community’s input on ways to revitalize the Route 36 corridor. The session will be held on Monday, January 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street. The focus will be on the concepts developed during the December 2016 meeting. Residents, business owners and others interested in the future of Rt. 36 are encouraged to attend.

Visioning sessions, also known as charrettes, are interactive workshops at which members of the residential and business community work side by side with township officials, project consultants. Input gathered at the sessions will help the township develop a set of design standards for along Route 36 from Sandy Hook to Ideal Beach.

The goal is to create standards that respect the character of the neighborhoods along the corridor. It's also to encourage business and property owners to reinvest in the area. Funding for this project comes from a Sandy Planning Assistance Grant.
