MIDDLETOWN –The Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a new round of dedication ceremonies to mark installation of the commemorative street signs that honor fallen veterans.
The next set of ceremonies will be held on April 16th. The veterans’ families and friends as well as the public are invited to attend. The ceremonies will include a color guard and the playing of taps.
More than 50 signs are being added to streets township-wide to honor our fallen veterans killed in action from World War II to present. The Veterans Affairs Committee plans to hold ceremonies at all sign locations. The commemorative sign includes the soldier’s full name, an American flag, branch of service, campaign served and a gold star representing the gold star mother and family. Konish Drive 10:00 a.m.
Named in memory of Paul P. Konish who was killed in action in World War II.
The road is located off Main Street between Riley Street and Phillips Mills Drive in the North Middletown
Bauer Court 10:30 a.m.
Named in memory of Alfred who was killed in action in Vietnam. The road is located off Phillips Mills Drive in North Middletown.
Bonifacio Drive 11:00 a.m.
Named in memory of Michael Bonifacio who was killed in action in World War II. The road is located off Kings Highway in Middletown Village.
Henry Drive 11:30 a.m.
Named in memory of George C. Henry who was killed in action in World War II. Henry Drive is located off Park Avenue near Tindall Road.
