[ARCHIVED] Tindall Park Tennis and Pickleball Courts Temporarily Closed Beginning Monday, 7/22

Tindall Courts Closed Temporarily

Middletown Recreation would like to inform the community that the Tindall Park tennis and pickleball courts will be temporarily closed for renovations starting Monday, July 22nd. These updates are necessary to ensure that the facilities remain safe, functional, and enjoyable for everyone.

As part of these renovations, there will be some tree removal in the surrounding area. Tree roots can grow underneath the courts, causing cracks, uneven surfaces, and potential safety hazards.

Leaves, twigs, and other debris can accumulate on the courts which makes maintenance difficult and can create slippery conditions. Overhanging trees can block sunlight, preventing the courts from drying quickly after rain and can lead to prolonged wet and potentially unsafe playing conditions.

We understand the importance of these trees to our community and the environment, and we have carefully planned this work to minimize impact. By addressing these issues through strategic tree removal, the Township aims to maintain high-quality, safe, and enjoyable tennis and pickleball courts for everyone.

Renovation Details:

  • Start Date: July 22, 2024
  • Estimated Completion: Mid-Late Fall 2024
  • Facilities Affected: Work Zone 1: Courts 1-8; Work Zone 2: Courts 9-16; Work Zone 3: Entrance to Tindall Park and parking area (will require the park to be closed to all vehicular traffic for 3-4 days)

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. These renovations will bring enhanced features and better playing surfaces, ensuring a top-quality experience for all players.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
