Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), a FirstEnergy company, is planning upgrades to its existing transmission lines to enhance electric service reliability. Property owners who live along JCP&L’s existing transmission right-of-way will be receiving a letter the week of Monday, February 24th.
To ensure compliance with environmental regulations, survey crews will need to access some transmission line structures to conduct soil borings. Any areas disturbed will be restored as soon as possible after the work is completed. No disruption to your electric service is anticipated as a result of this work. If it is determined that studies need to extend beyond the boundary of the right-of-way, a representative will contact you to coordinate conducting these studies prior to proceeding.
