Middletown – On August 3, 2023 at approximately 12:33 a.m., Middletown Twp. Police Officers Shane Hall and Aidan Cary arrested Rajiv U. Bryant, 31, of Emeryville California, for unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of high capacity magazines, and possession of hollow point ammunition.
The arrest came after officers observed Bryant commit a motor vehicle violation in the area of State Highway 36 and Main Street, in the Belford section of the township. During the course of the stop, officers observed that Bryant was in possession of the weapon. Bryant was taken into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Bryant was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a retention hearing.
Any persons arrested or charged with offenses are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Additionally, except in specific circumstances, arrest and complaint information and names of those charged may be released.
