The Middletown Landmarks Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month. The Landmarks Commission promotes the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of Middletown through the preservation of historic buildings and structures, and of places and districts of historic interest. They also work to preserve the development and maintenance for such buildings, structures, places and districts. The Commission provides architectural review of structures within Historic Districts and identifies and records all buildings, sites, places and structures of significant historical or architectural value and aids the public in understanding their worth. They also help preserve historic cemeteries scattered throughout the township.
