1st Lt Nicholas Abbate has sent a letter of thanks to everyone for their generosity and support. His mom, Marcy, read the letter to during the April meeting.

"Thank you so much for the care packages you sent to my platoon! I am deeply grateful for your tremendous show of support and incredible generosity. My Marines will certainly be ecstatic to receive the supplies and gifts you sent – every little item brightens the otherwise spartan conditions here in Afghanistan," wrote 1st Lt Abbate.

The Middletown Support the Troops Program was reactivated in March to collect supplies for the township native and his 80-plus infantry unit. As a result nearly three-quarters of a ton of supplies have been shipped to Afghanistan.
