Middletown Township and TD Bank had an agreement, which gave taxpayers the ability to pay real estate taxes with Visa and Mastercard. Under this agreement, the bank paid the convenience fee charged by the credit card companies. In February 2010, TD Bank notified Middletown Township that they would no longer pay that fee.

As of May 1, 2010, tax payments made by credit card either in person or on-line will be charged a convenience fee by the third party processing agent. Credit card tax payments may be made online at www.middletownj.org. Taxpayers still have the ability to pay with cash, check and/or ACH for no additional charge.
