Who performs wedding ceremonies in Middletown?

Middletown Judge
Judge Richard Thompson performs weddings at Town Hall on Mondays while court is in session. Call 732-615-2036. Date and time must be scheduled in advance.

Middletown Mayor
The Mayor performs weddings at Town Hall by appointment only.  Call 732-615-2024. Dates and time must be scheduled in advance.

Ministers and Others
Ministers of every religion may marry individuals legally permitted to marry. The Township Registrar can provide prospective couples with contact information on additional local persons qualified to conduct wedding ceremonies. Call 732-615-2094.

Who can perform marriages in New Jersey?
There are no Justices of the Peace in New Jersey.
Judges of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third District, federal district court judges, U.S. magistrate, judge of a municipal court, judge of the Superior Court, judge of a tax court, retired judge of the Superior Court or Tax Court, the former County Court, the former County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, or the former County District Court who has resigned in good standing, surrogate of any county, county clerk, any mayor or the deputy mayor when authorized by the mayor, or chairman of any township committee or village president of this State and ministers of every religion may marry individuals legally permitted to marry.
