The Public Information Officer facilitates an accurate and consistent flow of information regarding government issues, programs and services to the community. The Public Information Office serves as a liaison to media on behalf of the Middletown Township. The Public Information Officer also coordinates township ceremonies and presentations (ribbon cuttings, resident recognition), and facilitates the development of community outreach and awareness campaigns with guidance from the Mayor, Township Committee and Township Administrator.

Information Resources

Citizen Communication Center (E-mail & SMS Text Alerts)
The Township sends alerts and community messages to residents who register online. Registered users receive weather, traffic and other local alerts. They can also opt to receive community news and announcements on upcoming events.

Community Outreach and Awareness Campaigns

The Township maintains a bulletin board of upcoming community events. Programs produced by the school district and other government entities also air on the channel.

Newsletter
The Township provides municipal news, recreation and recycling schedules through a printed newsletter. The newsletter is distributed to all township households. Recent issues can be found in the documents and resources section.

Press Releases
Press Releases are issued to the news media and posted to the website to provide updates on municipal issues, activities, programs and services.

Proclamations
The Public Information Officer prepares proclamations for the Township Committee to raise awareness about societal issues and healthy behaviors; recognize outstanding residents; and congratulate residents on noteworthy accomplishments.

The Public Information Office works with township departments to facilitate the upkeep and continued development of the township website.
