Compton Street Sign Dedication & WWI Doughboy Monument Rededication
Saturday, November 4, 2017
At 12:30 p.m. there will be a street sign dedicated to the memory of Harold M. Compton, U.S. Army, who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War I. The dedication will be held at Compton Street at the corner of Church Street in Belford. Directly following the street sign dedication, there will be a ceremony at the newly-restored World War I Doughboy Monument located on Church Street. The historic monument was restored by the Veterans Affairs Committee to commemorate the role that local veterans played in WWI on its Centennial Anniversary. Please join us to honor and remember those who gave their lives in one of the most significant conflicts in our nation's history.
