Municipal Access Television

Middletown maintains a municipal access channel, MMTV, on Comcast cable channel 20 and Verizon FIOS channel 26. Tune in for school and municipal programming. Inbetween programs he township also airs a bulletin board that includes information on municipal services and event schedules. Click here for the programming schedule.

Meetings

Township Committee, Planning and Zoning agendas can be found online. Additional Board, Commission and Committee meeting schedules are posted on the event calendar.

Neighborhood Meetings - In addition, the Township Committee holds Regional Neighborhood meetings annually. The neighborhood meetings are a valuable way to maintain a greater understanding of key quality of life issues in our neighborhoods and to share information on township services and resources. Meeting locations are rotated annually. No formal action is taken at Neighborhood Meetings. Meetings are generally scheduled in the month of March.

Middletown Matters Newsletter

The township's newsletter, Middletown Matters, is mailed to residents six times a year. The newsletter includes updates on township projects and programs, parks and recreation program and event schedules, library news and events, program information from the Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse and information on the township's brush and leaf collection and recycling programs.

Press releases can be found by visiting the press release section of this website. If you are a member of the media and would like to be added to the the Township's news release list complete a Contact Us form and send to the Public Information Office.

The website also includes an Important Notices section. Here residents can find municipal service updates, event schedule changes and other important information.

Public Records

The Township Clerk has responsibilities required by NJ State Statutes which include acting as the Secretary to the Governing Body, Custodian of Records, Administering Local Elections, and Issuing Licenses and Permits.

Records requests are processed through the Township Clerks' Office. The State of New Jersey enacted the Open Public Records Act which allows access to records deemed to be Government Records. The definition of a government records can be found under C.47:1A-1.1 Definitions. To request a copy of a public record for any Township department you must complete and deliver an OPRA request form or fill out the OPRA request online.

Website

The goal of the municipal website is that it be developed into a one-stop shop for everyone's information needs. The township's website was overhauled in 2007 to improve residential access to municipal services and enhance communication between residents and township government. Site features include receipt of emergency notification via cell phone text message and e-mail, on-line submission of municipal service requests and tax payments.

Reverse 911

Emergency and urgent information is communicated to residents via telephone through the Reverse 911 system. The system is maintained by the Police Department.

Middletownnj.org is designed to provide residents with comprehensive online information about Middletown Township in an easy to navigate formula. For those who do not have easy access to the Internet, the township provides information via telephone and postal mail. Township office are also open Monday to Friday excluding holidays.
