Deputy Chief Frederick J. Henry
Deputy Chief Frederick J. Henry is a life-long resident of Middletown. Deputy Chief Henry began his police career with the Asbury Park Police Department. In 1980 he left Asbury Park and was appointed to the Middletown Township Police Department. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1990, to Lieutenant in 2005, and to Deputy Chief of Police in 2006. Henry’s assignments have included regular patrol officer, patrol supervisor, traffic supervisor, traffic bureau commander, and police administration. He graduated from the New Jersey State Police Academy for Municipal Police Officers in 1979. Deputy Chief Henry attended a 10-week management course, The School of Police Staff and Command, in 2000. As Deputy Chief, Henry commands the newly created office of Professional Standards, which encompasses planning, training, internal affairs and the accreditation process.
He is a United States Air Force Veteran and is retired from the New Jersey Air National Guard after 23 years of service. Deputy Chief Henry and his wife of 26 years, Ann Marie, have two sons, James, 23 and Joseph, 19.
