Senior Center Activities
Middletown's Senior Center welcomes Middletown residents 60 and older to become a member. The center is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A variety of activities, trips and special events are offered throughout the year. Transportation is availalbe to registered members by reservation. Call (732) 615-2265 for details.
Newly retired Middletown residents 60 and older are encouraged to visit and register. The center will provide free information about center activities and services. The Senior Center is located at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road Leonardo.
Free Programs year round!
The Middletown Senior Center offers free weekly classes and group activities for residents 60 and older. Regular weekly programs held at the center include:
Senior shape-up which is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,
A bridge group which meets Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A craft group which meets Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A walking group which meets Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m.
A computer class which meets Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Line dancing which is offered on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A crochet & needlecraft group which meets Thursdays at 11:00 a.m.
No advance registration is required for regular weekly programs. However, all participants must be registered members of the senior center. New members can register for free when they arrive to participate in a program. Transportation is available, but must be arranged in advance for new and current members. Free membership to Telecare Connections is available to Monmouth County caregivers and seniors. The interactive web-based program provides a holistic approach to meeting the multiple needs of our caregivers and seniors.
The program offers seniors the ability to participate in social and recreational activities, connect to family members, meetin new friends and share life stories and ease the tasks of daily living.
Caregivers can participate in on-line support groups and connect with other caregivers, manager daily living tasks, remain informed about your loved one's care, view training videos and have the ability to teleconference with loved ones at any time.
Telecare Connections is sponsored by the Monmouth County Office on Aging in copperation with Centrastate Healthcaresystem and the Visiting Nurse Assocation of New Jersey and partially funded with a grant from the state Division of Aging and Community Services.
