Committeeman Patrick Short
Committeeman Patrick Short began to serve a three-year term on the Township Committee in 2007.
Short, who has been recognized by the state legislature for his devotion to improve community effectiveness and quality of life, has served as deputy director of the Concerned Civic Associations of Middletown, vice present of the Concerned Citizens of Middletown and as chairman of the Nick Rowe Memorial Committee in Union Beach. Short, a West Point graduate, sits on the board of directors for the West Point Society of New Jersey.
Short, who has taught college-level economics, holds master’s degrees in National Security and Strategic Studies, Contract Acquisition Management and Management and Human Relations and a bachelor’s degree in applied sciences and engineering. Short has lived in Middletown since 1998 after serving 22 years as a military officer; retiring at the rank of Army Lieutenant Colonel. He is a certified project manager and currently employed by Hewlett Packard as a Senior Manager. He and his wife, Lucy, have two teenage children, Matthew “Tyler” and Erin.
