About Middletown

The Middletown Township Health Department conducts investigations regarding public health & environmental issues.

Certain communicable diseases reported by hospitals, laboratories, and private physicians are investigated to stop or reduce further person to person disease transmission. A list of these diseases can be found here.

Retail food establishments are licensed and inspected by the Health Department. As of January 2, 2007, New Jersey has adopted a new food code. A copy can be found here.

The Health Department oversees the installation of septic systems and wells. For more information, please contact us at 732-615-2095.

Under the Public Health Nuisance Code, the Health Department performs inspections of properties that are creating public health hazards. Property owners are contacted and advised to abate such problems.

In addition, the Health Department inspects kennels, pet shops, public recreational bathing facilities, and youth camps.
