US Police officers trained as child passenger safety technicians will assist motorists with proper child safety seat installation as well as proper positioning and harnessing of a child.
Checkpoints held at Police Headquarters, 1 Kings Highway. Free and open to the public. No appointment necessary. In the event of severe weather, rain dates will be announced.
The program is funded through grant from the state Division of Highway Traffic Safety. Please remember state law requires that all children below the age of 8 years or less than 80 lbs. in weight must be seated in a child restraint system. US Landmark Commission meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Middletown Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, at 7:30 p.m. Call 732-615-2014 for more information. The Landmarks Commission an advisory body established in 1974. Their mission is to promote the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of Middletown through the preservation of historic buildings and structures, and of places and districts of historic interest and the development and maintenance of appropriate settings for such buildings, structures,places and districts.
The Landmarks Commission provides architectural review of structures within Historic Districts. They also work to identify and record all buildings, sites, places and structures or significant historical or architectural value and aid the public in understanding their worth. US Middletown Township will hold a remembrance ceremony on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 8:46 a.m. at the Middletown World Trade Center Memorial Gardens in memory of the 37 residents who died in the World Trade Center tragedy. The time marks the moment an airplane impacted the World Trade Center’s North Tower nine years ago. The simple service includes a wreath laying ceremony followed by a reflective walk through the gardens.
The ceremony will be held rain or shine. The gardens are located at 36 Church Street next to the Middletown Arts Center. Visitors can park at the Middletown Train Station. |
