Plastic Guidelines
Some pourable containers with a number 1 or number 2 enclosed in the triangular recycling symbol molded into the bottom of the container. The number 1 indicates that the container is made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The number 2 signifies that the container is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Acceptable plastic containers include: milk, soda, water, juice, laundry detergent, bleach, and fabric softener.

Acceptable plastic containers should be put out for curbside collection with the aluminum, glass and bi-metal commingled for collection once a month. Please remove cap or lid, wash container and flatten it before putting in rigid recycling container. Acceptable plastic containers may also be dropped off at the Kanes Lane Recycling Center during the center's normal hours.
