The first award was presented to former Fire Chief Tony Citarella, who rescued a 9-year-old child from a house fire in the Old Village section of town on New Year's Day - his final day serving as Fire Chief.

Fire Chief Ryan Clarke spoke about Citarella's dedication and highlighted the Department's training that prepares our brave volunteers for emergency situations.

Mayor Murray stated that Middletown has an 'embarrassment of riches' when it comes to our emergency service workers. We truly appreciate their tireless dedication
to our community!
