60th Annual Veterans Day Parade This Sunday, 11/5! 


The 60th annual Veterans Day Parade will be held this Sunday, November 5th.The parade, sponsored by VFW 2179 and the Township of Middletown, will assemble at 12:30 p.m. at Bayview School, 300 Leonardville Road, and step off at 1:00 p.m. The parade will then proceed through Campbell’s Junction, turning right at Cherry Tree Farm Road, right at Wilson Avenue and right at Garrett Place ending at the rear entrance to VFW Post 2179. Be sure to get the best seat in the house at the reviewing stand at Wilson Avenue and Chapman Terrace – a great place to watch the parade and see live performances!  

The theme of this year’s parade is “Thank a Veteran".  We hope to see the parade route lined with supporters and that you will head to the VFW Post 2179, 1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth immediately following the parade for a complimentary lunch and the opportunity to speak with local veterans. There will also be displays, awards, DJ music, and a “Message to a Veteran” graffiti wall. 

Compton Street Sign Dedication & WWI Doughboy Monument Rededication


The Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a rededication ceremony on Saturday, November 4th for the Township’s newly-restored World War I Doughboy Monument on Church Street in Belford. This ceremony will directly follow the Compton Street Sign Dedication at 12:30 p.m., honoring Harold M. Compton. Compton served as a U.S. Army solider in World War I and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in the conflict. All are invited to attend.

Middletown Hosts Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno

Middletown Township hosted Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno on Wednesday at Town Hall where she highlighted the need for an extension of the two percent arbitration cap.

This week, the Office of Emergency Management held a drill for distribution of medication to towns along the shoreline. The drill was very successful and we thank them for their hard work and diligence!

Middletown Township Police Officer to Aid Hurricane Maria Recovery Efforts in Puerto Rico

Middletown Township Patrolman Ekne Montalvo will leave tomorrow for Puerto Rico to aid with Hurricane Maria recovery efforts along with nine other Monmouth County officers.

Municipal Offices will be closed on Tuesday November 7th in observance of Election Day and on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans Day
