Permanent Project Medicine Drop Off Box
Middletown Township now has a permanent Project Medicine Drop box at police headquarters, located at 1 Kings Highway.

Middletown Joins "Project Medicine Drop" Initiative

Middletown Township has joined the New Jersey Attorney General’s “Project Medicine Drop” initiative and has installed a Project Medicine Drop box at police headquarters.

This will make it easier and more convenient than ever for Middletown Township residents to take an active role in the fight against the nationwide epidemic of opiate and heroin abuse, which is often fueled by the abuse of prescription painkillers.

“Project Medicine Drop" is a natural addition to our commitment to help improve the public safety and quality of life in Middletown Township. It will encourage our residents to be fully aware of the potential for abuse presented by otherwise beneficial medications,” said Middletown Township Police Chief Craig Weber.

The department’s new Project Medicine Drop Box is located at 1 Kings Highway. Residents may visit the Middletown Police Department at any time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to dispose of their unused or excess medications.

“It’s imperative that we offer our residents the convenience of accessing this drop box at any time,” said Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger. “I commend Chief Weber for continuing our commitment to public service and safety.”
